THE GENTLEMAN’S SMITH

Average Men’s Wedding Ring Size – What To Expect

When it comes to shopping for men’s wedding rings, the first question that usually pops up in your mind is what size should you get, and what is the average wedding ring size? Even though most of us are familiar with standard clothing and shoe sizes, when it comes to wedding bands there’s a lot more to consider. Getting the perfect fit on your men’s wedding ring is important. A ring that doesn’t fit you correctly can be extremely annoying and possibly even painful after a certain amount of time. Keeping this in mind, let’s take a look at what you can expect from average men’s wedding ring sizes.

Average Men’s Wedding Ring Size

The average men’s finger size for a wedding ring is between 9 and 11.5. This might be helpful information to know if you are unable to size your finger before purchasing or you are organising a surprise. However average does not mean everyone will fall within this range. It is important to get an accurate measurement so that you your ring fits perfectly. At The Gentleman’s Smith, we know that all fingers come in all sorts of sizes. This means we stock sizes from as small as US 4.5 through to 16.75. All our rings are in stock and ready to send out, so there is no waiting around for a custom size. Lots of Jewelers only stock the average sizes and you need a custom ring made for anything outside of this.

How to Measure Your Finger for Rings

To get a good idea of the ring size you need, you’ll need to measure the circumference of your finger. There are two ways you can do this: You can either use a ring-sizing tool, or you can wrap a piece of string around your finger and then measure the length of the string. At The Gentleman’s Smith we recommend the first option, as you will find it will give you a much more accurate size. The Gentleman’s Smith ring sizing tool is included with every purchase and is simple and easy to use. Check out our process here. Using a piece of string can be highly inaccurate and you will probably find that your ring will not fit. The third option is to head into a local jeweler to get sized up.

Why Is It So Important To Get The Right Fit?

Getting the perfect fit on your men’s wedding ring is important for a few reasons. First and foremost, a ring that doesn’t fit properly can be extremely annoying and even painful after a while. Secondly, if your ring is too big, it might fall off your finger and get lost, which can obviously be a huge problem! Your ring should stay securely on your finger, but it shouldn’t be so tight that it cuts off your circulation and gets stuck. If your finger swells due to hot weather, excessive sweating, or dehydration, it’ll be difficult to take off a ring that’s too tight.

Which Finger Should You Get Your Ring On?

There are a couple of different schools of thought when it comes to which finger you should get your ring on. Some people believe that you should get your ring on the same finger you got your engagement ring on. Others believe that you should get your ring on the same finger as your birthstone. Whatever your preference, we suggest that you get your ring on the same finger you got your engagement ring on. Having both rings on the same finger looks nice, and it will make it easier to keep track of both rings.

So there you have it – what you can expect from average men’s wedding ring sizes. Wearing a ring that doesn’t fit properly can be extremely uncomfortable and even painful, so it’s important to make sure you get one that’s the right size. There are a few things you can do to make sure you get one that fits you correctly, like measuring your finger and choosing a ring that has a thinner or thicker band and band width depending on where you fall on the size scale.
